A protein found in a select few sensory neurons suppresses painful touch after an injury, according to a study published October 15 in Cell Reports. Called TAFA4, the protein abruptly ended the period of hypersensitivity following a paw injury in mice, and suggests a new therapeutic route to quell pain.
