22q11.2 hotspot for schizophrenia research

Over 20 years ago, researchers realized that missing a stretch of DNA on chromosome 22 increased the odds for developing schizophrenia. Containing 45 genes, this hotspot continues to draw researchers looking for clues to the genetic basis of schizophrenia. This research roundup takes a look at the latest results.
